DESCRIPTION:

Understandably, Americans are focused on oil – its cost, its supply and the dependency on foreign sources – some overtly hostile to the United States. However, there is another natural resource even more critical to our prosperity and indeed, to our very survival – water. Yet no politician has raised looming water shortages as an issue for our concern.
Like oil, it is an equation of supply and demand. The supply of water has not increased. The demand however, has soared. Since the 1960’s the native-born population of the United States, all races and all ethnicities, has stabilized. Nearly all the massive increase in population has been due to immigration and the increased fertility rates of new immigrants. At the current rates of legal and illegal immigration, how will the people of the United States guarantee a supply of clean, potable water for the next generation?
